Jr. Warriors Spring Hockey Registration

The Jr. Warriors program is pleased to announce our spring hockey programs. Our objectives are to offer a comprehensive program designed to improve each child’s fundamental skills, game skills, and confidence.  We will again offer two programs this spring designed to accommodate all interest and skill levels:

Mite Travel Prep (2013 & 2014)
The Mite Travel Prep is designed for aspiring and current travel players. Evaluations will be held March 15th thru March 20th and the season will run from April 5th thru May 27th.

The program will be on the ice an average of three times weekly. The format will include:

  • Weekly skills on Tuesdays with WHC Skills Instructors.  The focus of these sessions will be to improve each child’s core skills  using station-based training to maximize reps.
  • Weekly Small Area Games/3 on 3 sessions on Friday nights at Winnetka or NSIA.
  • Two team practices
  • 6-8 full-ice games with area programs (Wilmette, Northbrook, Glenview, etc.)
  • Goalies will also receive weekly clinics led by Stu Gould and Eric Bragnola of Good as Gould Goalie Schools.
  • Participation in "The Glacier Invitational" the final weekend of the program  -  May 15-17 (for levels at which they offer a tournament).

The goal is to form at least four teams based on participation.
Fee:  $825

Spring ADM (2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016)
This  program is perfect for the child that participated in Minor Mite or Learn to Skate and is moving up from the Learn to Skate program offered by the Park District or is planning on participating in the House League program next  season.

The program will meet on Wednesdays at 5:40pm and Fridays at 5:25pm at Winnetka Ice Arena.  Each session will consist of 30 minutes devoted to skill development in small stations to maximize reps.  The last 30 minutes will be cross-ice games designed to allow all participants to maximize  “touches” and puck  skills.

The program includes 13 one-hour ice sessions.
Dates:  Wednesday, April 7th thru May 21st
Fee:  $425 (fee includes jersey)
